Shira Meltzer, M.S CCC-SLP is a certified and licensed (TX) speech-language pathologist. She is the founder of City Speech Center and has provided speech & language therapy services to children of all ages for almost 20 years.
Ms. Meltzer graduated from Queens College with a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology. She then earned a master’s degree in speech/language pathology from Lehman College (NYC). After working in a preschool setting for several years, Ms. Meltzer entered private practice. In 2010 she opened her own private practice in Vancouver, BC , which grew into a thriving practice. In 2019, Ms. Meltzer opened City Speech Center in North Dallas.
Ms. Meltzer speaks English, Hebrew, and some Spanish. Her specialties include: speech sound therapy, tongue/lip/jaw strengthening, and language therapy for children who have autism or other challenges. She especially loves working with toddlers.
At City Speech Center, Ms. Meltzer believes that in order to provide effective therapy it is important to establish a bond with both child and parent. Parents are encouraged to sit in on sessions and are given tips on how to continue therapy at home. The more practice at home, the faster the therapy is completed!
